Amazingly prescient with regard to today! And these are some of the things that Lewis says about Chesterton in Surprised by Joy( chapter XIV):

“Chesterton had more sense than all the other moderns put together”
and
“I read Chesterton’s Everlasting Man and for the first time saw the whole Christian outline of history set out in a form that seemed to me to make sense”.

Dimitry

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever.” (1 Corinthians 13: 4-8)

I really need to read some Chesterton. I’ve long recognized that Lewis was prophetic (most recently, in the lengthy quote from Screwtape Proposes a Toast I posted here), and of course I know Chesterton was a big influence on him, but I’ve never really gotten around to reading him yet.
