When I saw the title of the post, I figured the basis would be the pervasive post-modernism of the day, which denies objective truth. After all, if people are insisting that it’s racist to say 2 + 2 = 4, how can science survive?
True, that’s another possible reason for a future decadence of scientific research, although the loss of confidence in the existence of “truth” has not affected yet (too much) the most traditional research environments. However, it has affected society, and therefore sooner or later it will put an end to science. Unless we react and stop the current “age of unreason.”
